Cheaper Gas Helps Keeps Older People Warm

If you have elderly relatives or friends who struggle to pay their utility bills during the colder months, finding them a cheap gas supplier will be one of the best things you could do for them.

By assisting older folk to cut the price they pay for each unit of gas, you’ll make it easier for them to keep their central heating on longer during the cold spells.

Even the ablest OAP is generally not able to move around as easily as they used to and this decrease in mobility inevitably makes it harder to keep warm. That’s why every winter we’re all asked, on TV and in the papers, to “keep an eye out out for elderly neighbours” during cold spells.

In some cases, our vigilance can be the difference between life and death.

So instead of waiting till it gets freezing cold this winter, why not think ahead? Find out now where your OAP friends and family can source cheap gas, and suggest they switch supplier so that they can make savings right away.

It’s no secret that the fastest way of comparing prices these days is to check out one of the many specialist energy websites. You’ll be able to find out in seconds who’s offering the lowest cost gas in your area and the various plans that they offer.

Ask your older friends if they’d like to lower their monthly gas bills and, if they would, take a note of their postcode and how much they’re currently paying. You’ll also need to know how they prefer to pay. Then, when you’re online, go to a price comparison website on their behalf to look for the deals that are best for them.

Once you’ve put in the information mentioned above, very quickly you’ll be given a list of all the options. Take down those that seem good value and then share this information with your favourite OAPs.

Just imagine - if you manage to cut your auntie’s gas bill by finding her a cheap gas deal, she’ll not only be delighted with you for cutting her costs - she’ll also be able to keep warm this winter.
